dannypam > Our visit to the Spitler School Project began on Feb. 13 when we arrived in Siem Reap after an 11-day tour of Vietnam. Sarin, his wife Mary, daughter Vita, and two of the school teachers were at the airport to meet us with lovely flowers.
dannypam > The following morning Pam and I were overwhelmed by the huge welcome that we received from all of the villagers upon our arrival at the school.
dannypam > In every class room children had prepared a song for us, and showed off their mastery of the English words "Hello," "Welcome," and "Thank You."
dannypam > "Welcome to Danny & Pam"
dannypam > "So what's the big deal about a couple of visiting Americans? Lets get back to the books."
dannypam > Pam gets a smile or two out of the older girls in the class.
dannypam > We were so impressed with the teachers and what they were accomplishing.
dannypam > The Irvin Spitler Library project is coming along nicely. It is probably the smallest building that Dad has ever financed, but it might be the most rewarding.
dannypam > We met with the village leaders and the political leader of the area.
