dannypam > The Spitler School's six teachers pose with Sarin, his wife Mary, and two monitors who were hired to take care of the school grounds and provide security and maintenance.
dannypam > When classes began in September of 2005 there were 191 children attending the Spitler School.
dannypam > Classes were crowded, but Sarin made sure that both the teachers and the students had good materials and supplies to enhance the learning experience.
dannypam > Small tables were built for the kindergarten classes and woven mats were placed over the dirt floors of the classroom.
dannypam > Local travel agents in the area began to ask clients if they would like to visit a rural community school, and our school began receiving visitors from around the world.  This photo shows our students welcoming a group of Americans with Elderhostel on a visit to the school.
dannypam > Near the end of 2005, using funds donated by Danny Spitler's father, Irvin Spitler, Sarin began construction of the first "brick and mortar" building.  It would be called The Irvin Spitler Library.
dannypam > Six weeks after construction began the new library was beginning to take shape.
dannypam > In March, 2006 Danny and Pam Spitler returned to Cambodia to Ang Chagn Chass to visit their school.  They received a very warm welcome from the villagers.
dannypam > Danny Spitler speaks to the people of Ang Chagn Chass, bringing them greetings from America.  He thanked them for their support of the school project and encouraged them to continue sending their children to the school.
