After three exciting days in Namibia we boarded our small planes and bid farewell to the Kwando River.
I was able to spot this small herd of elephants soon after we took off. We headed south and landed at another dirt airstrip in the midst of the famous Okavango Delta in Botswana.
Our trip from the airstrip to our next lodge was a game drive also. Along the way we spotted our first ostrich of the trip.
We were welcomed to Moremi National Park by our old friend, the red-billed hornbill aka chili pepper because of the red beak.
Adding to our list of antelope species was this first and only sighting of a red hartebeest.
Old Reliable, the trusty little antelope never disappoint and can be seen around almost every corner.
Pam's list of new birds lengthened with this sighting of a crimson breasted gonolek.
After a picnic lunch on the trail we arrived at our next home, Moremi tented camp.
The lodge, the walkways, and the tents were all built above ground so that you felt like you were living in the trees. Here Pam poses in the rustic, but comfortable lounge area.
